The Emdeni Skills Centre in Soweto was established in 2010. Its purpose is to provide skills training to the youth so that they can enter the mainstream economy by becoming employed or starting their own businesses. Currently more than 280 young adults between the ages of 18 and 35 are benefiting from the programme annually.

We operate in partnership with agencies that have SETA accredited courses and aim for accredited qualifications for our students.

  • Painting and Tiling (3 month course)
  • Assistant chef (4 month course)
  • Tunnel and Permaculture Agriculture (6 month course)
  • ICDL Computer Training (3 month course)
  • Business Administration (3 month course)

With each course, students also have to undertake life skills and business skills training at the Emdeni Skills Centre.

An Information Centre that provides Internet and computer access, ID applications, CV’s, photocopying/printing, faxing, government information, etc., is available to people from Emdeni.

If you are a student wanting to take part in a course, please visit our Facebook page for more updates and details.
