Simona came into the care of Abraham Kriel Bambanani when she was 5 years old. Growing up in a children’s home was not easy, but she is grateful and wants to share her story with the world.

This is where it all started …

Note: Simona’s name was changed at the time of the video shoot.

Fast forward to 2019 …

Thanks to wonderful donors, Simona’s dream came true. She is currently in her 3rd year studying BCur Nursing Sciences.

July 2019: A letter from Simona to her house parents, Child care manager and Satellitehouse manager:

October 2019: Simona, had such an amazingly fulfilling experience. She helped deliver her first baby as a nursing student. This was such an inspiring and moving accomplishment for her.

December 2019:

As Simona’s journey continues, we will be updating her story.

We also have future lawyers, teachers, chefs, human resource officers, doctors, etc. etc. that still need funding to make their dreams possible.

“We have a few students really working hard towards their qualifications and there are many more that want to make something of themselves next year. We have the pleasure and the challenge of an unprecedented number of students from all our programmes, who want to pursue some sort of tertiary or skills training after completing school this year. The most we probably ever had at one time was 14. This year we are looking at 38+ ambitious school leavers. Our donors who brought them this far and who make the journey forward possible, are really the heroes in these children’s lives. Without their funding, our youngsters would not be where they are or get where they are going. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!” says Hilda du Toit, Marketing Manager.
