Abraham Kriel Bambanani moves to Level 1
On 28 February 2021, President Cyril Ramaphosa, announced that the country will move to Level 1 of the lockdown. This impacts our care services.
Please be advised that the following measures are in place at level 1.
Residential Care
- Donations can be received at our campuses and/or satellite houses. Where capacity allows, we can also collect donations
- Visits from family/host parents on campus are allowed – not more than 4 people at a time.
- Visits from congregations, donors are allowed in groups of 4 persons or less. Special permission from relevant campus manager is needed for bigger groups.
- Children may go on outdoor outings in small groups and under staff supervision.
Community Care
- Drop-in centres have not re-opened and will remain closed until the Department of Social Development decides otherwise.
- Home visits by care workers have resumed at pre-Covid levels to provide holistic support for children and youth registered as primary beneficiaries.
- Holistic support now also means basic access to technology, where possible.
- Food parcels containing provision for a balanced diet are still the only option for food support to beneficiaries and their direct carers.
- Basic food parcels are still supplied to indirect beneficiaries and community members in distress, to combat hunger in communities where we work.
Please note: Strict hygiene and social distancing measures remain in place.
Abraham Kriel Bambanani is grateful to announce that no employees or beneficiaries were lost to the Covid-19 pandemic. All or most of us have lost family and friends though and our hearts go out to all that have suffered the loss of loved ones.
